Marcia A. Franklin

Marcia Franklin is an experienced attorney dedicated to serving the needs of individuals and closely held businesses and their owners. Marcia advises and counsels clients with respect to business formation and structuring, transactions, employment, contracts, buying and selling businesses, ownership succession, real estate and leasing.  A significant part of Marcia’s practice is also devoted to estate planning and probate. Her goal is to provide clients with valuable counseling on a cost-effective basis in order to enable her clients to achieve their individual an business goals. Marcia has a B.A. in History from University of Rochester, a J.D from the Washington College of Law at American university and is admitted to practice in Illinois and the District of Columbia. Marcia is also a past Chairman of the Northbrook Plan Commission and a member of the Northbrook Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.

Marcia worked with the Federal Communications Commission as an attorney in the Mass Media Bureau and as Branch Manager in the Common Carrier Bureau from 1982 through 1987, and at MCI Telecommunications as a senior attorney from 1987 through 1994. Thereafter, she worked as a consultant until joining Kaplan & Greenswag LLC in January 2007 and has remained with the firm in its various iterations.
